Well who would have thought this would be my most successful venture this year? Certainly not me!! When I was approached by my greatest, dearest, most wonderful friend Stephanie about having a booth at the 'critters gone country' event I didn't think my jewellery would really fit in with the doggie biscuits and super high tech flea collars. But I thought the worst that could happen is I get to see a bunch of cute animals and at least get some cool treats for my doggies.
The response to my booth was awesome!! (Can you tell I'm still feeling the sellers high?) I think the fact that I was one of the few booths selling something more 'owner friendly' was actually a boost.
My biggest selling group was my vintage necklaces. I now have to go hunting for more old pocket watches as I sold both of those pieces, it was a bit bittersweet as I love them so much.
The other booths there were pretty cool, there was a cartoonist, a pyshic, lots of doggie collar specialists but I was so busy I didnt get to do much shopping. It didn't help that my 'better' half spent any time he wasn't giving me washroom breaks...fishing.
My full day thrift shopping or thrift 'hunting' was very successful!! I found a gorgeous pair of earrings I am hoping to re-work into necklaces and a big bold Gold pendant that needs a little vamping as well. I also managed to score a vintage apron (for all the cooking i'll be doing on my time off....wishful thinking) tons of baby hats, bibs and socks and of course a cute shirt or two for once I can fit anything over my belly.
I'm starting the fourth session of my glass fusing workshop so keep your eyes open for new glass fused pieces shortly, once I get that drummel out I should have some put together. That thing still scares me. lol
I'm going to be posting pictures of new vintage and glass fused pieces as well as hopfully a pic or two from the show so check back!!
